From Stressed Out to Successful and Satisfied… Walking the Path

Imagine preparing for a hike across some densely forested, little travelled terrain…

You arrive at the start point, no map, no compass, no bug repellent, hat or sunscreen and wearing thongs…

Let’s assume you’re going to have a shitty time, right?

Most things that can go wrong, probably will – because you don’t have the right tools for the job.

NB…I’m going to share something exciting (and free) today that’ll put the right tools in your toolkit, so read on.

Many women I connect with are scrambling their way through each day, barely keeping up with their to-do’s, wanting to feel better along the way but not getting there because they’re using the wrong implements to bush-whack their way through the obstacles on their path…

Particularly if you’re a woman who’s a business owner or professional, you exist in a pretty cognitive dominant, intellectual space, so chances are, you’ve got a strong mind.

While your beautiful mind and sharp intellect is the PERFECT tool for so many of your professional puzzles, when it comes to navigating your way from a state of stress, anxiety or burnout to one of relaxation, satisfaction and success, your mind is likely going to walk you in circles in the bush until you feel like you’re going mad.

Said differently, if you find yourself overwhelmed, overthinking, anxious, guilty, unable to let yourself off the hook and mentally put things down and going through the motions – always busy, but never really feeling fulfilled, then I’m talking to you.

I want to challenge you (lovingly) to get honest with yourself about whats really stopping you from feeling the way you want to.

I say that I’m challenging you, because I KNOW you don’t have the right tools in your toolkit.

If you did, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. 

AND, because I’ve stood beside literally thousands of women now, handed them the proverbial ‘right tools’ and watched them bush-whack their way successfully to a totally new reality, regardless of how stuck they were before.

Contrary to what that voice in your head might say…there’s nothing wrong with you. Your stuckness is not an indicator of your personal failings or inadequacy.

Sure, we all have areas where we can heal and grow – myself very much included – but that doesn’t mean there’s something WRONG. It’s a normal part of life!

You just need the right tools for the job, and that growth and expansion into a more relaxed, successful and radiant version of yourself is headed your way.

Never underestimate the power of your past. Because it’s not in the past. It’s here in this living moment with you – woven into your responses, choices and perceptions; baked into your nervous system and psyche through and reinforcement and repetition.

That doesn’t mean your past has to define you, not at all.

Though, you’re lying to yourself if you say ‘its in the past’, yet have done no work to clear the ripples of that past from your system to create space for something new.

Yesterday, in a session with my coach, I went ‘back in time’ to the end of 2020, when I went through an experience that was somewhat challenging for me.

Here is a sublime example

Despite acknowledging the challenge at the time, I realised looking back that I hadn’t fully resolved or digested what happened there.

Part of me stayed frozen in that experience, and on the subtlest of levels, I have gotten in my own way unconsciously ever since.

That past experience was with me in every moment. It informed my capacity and energy levels, choices and perceptions.

And this is how the past shapes us – you have experiences that your system ‘learns’ from, and you then – often completely unconsciously – adjust accordingly to avoid repeating painful or difficult events.

We are such clever adaptive creatures.

But, those ‘adaptations’ will inadvertently shape your behaviour, attitudes, thoughts and feelings in a way that can begin to inhibit your ability to fully show up for your business or career, relationships, and life in general.

If you bring the process of ‘learning’ from these past experiences into consciousness, you gift yourself the chance to mine the gold from the past, get the learnings and gifts link example: and then move forward with your life.

The challenges of the past – and your adaptations – can become like a cage you find yourself living in if you’re not aware, but this digestion process ensures your continued liberation…
