When ‘Change’ Comes Knocking

Spring & embracing change!
SHARE

Evolutionary pressures are always working on us. Relationships, work, aspects of self and ways of being want and need to grow all the time.

But, I see humans cause themselves a LOT of suffering through resisting evolutionary pressure and change when she comes knocking…

Recently, one of my prize creations went through a rite of passage…  A program I love and have proudly chaperoned groups of women through over the last few years wanted to transform.

I was resistant at first, having seen women have such powerful experiences in the program, my mind was holding onto the old structure and being inflexible. I surrendered control and dropped below my mind’s ideas, to listen to and feel what wanted to happen.

When I stopped resisting and staying tangled in my mind ‘trying to work it out’, what happened was beautiful.

What was ‘The HER Mentorship’ transformed, you could say, from caterpillar to butterfly and came out of the cocoon as: ‘Foundations of HER: The Woman you Want to Be’.

‘HER’ wanted to grow up.  There were ways she wanted to become cleaner, more streamlined and elegant.  There was a calling for a deeper reverence for the absolute foundations, and a commitment to being more precise and structured in landing those foundations for the women who dive into the journey.

The energy of this new, simpler iteration of my creation felt SO GOOD in my body. The ‘yes’ I began to feel when I listened deeply to the change that wanted to occur helped my mind surrender, expand and trust the unfolding…

Here’s how I knew that evolution was trying to have her way with me and my program:

  • The old configuration of the program logically made sense, but it didn’t feel like a ‘click’ any more.
  • I’d started noticing that lack of click. Something didn’t feel quite right about the program, even though it logically still looked good. The energy surrounding it no longer felt vibrant, easy, resonant and alive.
  • The feedback I was getting from life reflected the change in energy. Participants in the program weren’t as engaged, even though they were getting fabulous results, the program just didn’t have the same sparkle it once did. This was subtle, but I could feel it.
  • I didn’t feel as excited. And to continue with the old way, I would’ve been ‘going through the motions’. This one’s important! Pay attention to where your life force and enthusiasm naturally wants to go, and trust that.
  • And the idea of surrendering the old way I had a feeling of relief and expansion, even though it looked scary.

In the points above, I’m describing my relationship with a program – a creation in my business. Though these signs and clues can show up in any area of life: your intimate partnership, friendships, relationships with family members, your sports and hobbies and your work life.

Change is often scary (to the mind). People will so often ignore the signs that it’s time for things to change to stay with what is known and safe.

BUT! On the other side of trusting these signals, I now have a new offering for women that feels SO GOOD to me. The aliveness, resonance, excitement, and energy have been restored! I’m so excited to guide women through this new expression of my signature program.

If you’re noticing the signals from life that something wants to change and grow, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to throw that thing in the bin and start anew. It might simply mean that some of your old ways of being in your relationship or work or routine no longer serve you, and this is your deeper being speaking to you, trying to help you create a life that’s even more true, aligned and satisfying.

Learning to listen to and trust this evolutionary pulse is essential – it will lead you towards the right life for you in a way your mind never will.

If you want to learn to hear, trust and follow the aliveness, energy and alignment in your life, that’s what you’ll learn inside the ‘Foundations of Her’.

We begin the next round on October 16th, and places are limited.

Never underestimate the power of your past. Because it’s not in the past. It’s here in this living moment with you – woven into your responses, choices and perceptions; baked into your nervous system and psyche through and reinforcement and repetition.

That doesn’t mean your past has to define you, not at all.

Though, you’re lying to yourself if you say ‘its in the past’, yet have done no work to clear the ripples of that past from your system to create space for something new.

Yesterday, in a session with my coach, I went ‘back in time’ to the end of 2020, when I went through an experience that was somewhat challenging for me.

Here is a sublime example

Despite acknowledging the challenge at the time, I realised looking back that I hadn’t fully resolved or digested what happened there.

Part of me stayed frozen in that experience, and on the subtlest of levels, I have gotten in my own way unconsciously ever since.

That past experience was with me in every moment. It informed my capacity and energy levels, choices and perceptions.

And this is how the past shapes us – you have experiences that your system ‘learns’ from, and you then – often completely unconsciously – adjust accordingly to avoid repeating painful or difficult events.

We are such clever adaptive creatures.

But, those ‘adaptations’ will inadvertently shape your behaviour, attitudes, thoughts and feelings in a way that can begin to inhibit your ability to fully show up for your business or career, relationships, and life in general.

If you bring the process of ‘learning’ from these past experiences into consciousness, you gift yourself the chance to mine the gold from the past, get the learnings and gifts link example: and then move forward with your life.

„ QUOTE DESIGN: I CALL THIS PROCESS ‘DIGESTING’ YOUR PAST EXPERIENCES, AND HAVE SPECIFIC PRACTICES I TEACH TO SUPPORT YOU TO DO THIS.“

I call this process ‘digesting’ your past experiences, and have specific practices I teach to support you to do this.

The challenges of the past – and your adaptations – can become like a cage you find yourself living in if you’re not aware, but this digestion process ensures your continued liberation…

Which past experiences do you need to free yourself from?
